Congratulations on winning Best Performance Marketing Technology at the 2020 Performance Marketing Awards! Tell us about your campaign and winning this award?
It was a huge honour to win the Best Performance Marketing Technology at this year’s virtual ceremony. To be shortlisted against so many impressive, well-established businesses was a great achievement in itself, but to then win it was incredible and something that the whole team are very proud of.
How did it feel to know that the industry helped support you to get this award?
It’s always a great feeling to get that validation from your peers in the industry when it comes to winning this award. We know we have a really robust technology with some strong USPs, but to have other people who we admire and respect vote for us and confirm it was truly humbling.
The human touch has been a critical element of this year’s entries. How has team collaboration been vital to your campaign success?
Quite simply, we wouldn’t have an award-winning technology without the team we have. From the partnerships team to the technology team right up to senior management, everyone has played a part in where we are right now as a business. We have had to continue that focus on collaboration in the current climate and the team efforts and strong work ethic have ensured that we have come through this difficult period a much stronger and agile business.
From your experiences, what qualities make an award-winning entry?
Having a successful company or campaign is a good start. But it is also imperative that you outline clearly what problem/issue it is you are trying to solve and how you have solved it. In addition, including some data and results will show the judges that you have a decent grasp of the commercial elements of your business (which is, ultimately, what it’s all about).
Lastly, what’s your take on the PMAs as a necessary vehicle for driving the performance marketing industry forward?
The PMAs are hugely important to help the industry grow. They generate awareness and exposure in areas of businesses that it wouldn’t necessarily be noticed and alongside Pi Live, is vitally important to its progress and development.
