Another brilliant afternoon of insightful, engaging and exciting sessions took the spotlight at today’s PI LIVE Global. Here’s a roundup on some of top highlights from the second day:

Open and accessible

Adam Ross, COO of Awin kicked off an exciting and forward-thinking round of engaging sessions via their dedicated content track as he reflected on the radical changes from 2020 and the implications for the future of the affiliate industry. Going through key vertical trends, Awin’s transition to remote working and additional growth accelerated by digital transformation, Awin’s analysis indicated just how the persevering the affiliate marketing has been and as Ross stated, the channel remained “accessible and open for every kind of business”.

This was a key theme with the development of Awin Access. business development director, Michelle O’Sullivan showcased the work of the service since it’s inception with Gary Winter (Pacamask) and Dan Whytock (Down Your Hight Street) sharing their success stories as they entered into the world of affiliate marketing. Speaking of success stories, we got more insight into two PMA award-winning entries this year with Dorothy Perkins, Mobiles.co.uk, voucherloud, Revlifter and Awin all discussing how increasingly brand-focused campaigns were driving more creative thinking in the affiliate channel. Meanwhile, in-app tracking specialist Clementyne Lavender talked about one of the industry’s most pressing areas and why advertisers should be adopting in-app tracking capabilities to future-proof in-app sales.

Public speaking, D&I and performance marketing strategies for 2021

In an open and honest session, Aviva senior UX designer Sunil Pithwa provided his personal experience from school to work in how he overcame the fear of public speaking and shared how practising, testing equipment and having fun are essential in developing your confidence on stage. Flipping over to performance marketing strategies for 2021, Acceleration Partners managing director Helen Southgate reminded us on how vital reviews and audits were to your business to identify both the opportunities and challenges as well as budget spend, the right people and structures and thinking big in order to keep your strategic path on track.

Then in one of the most topical sessions of the afternoon, representatives from Turn the Talk & Adtraction (Anjulie Blunden), VoucherCodes (Angus Drummond), Rakuten Advertising (Rakhee Jogia), Wavemaker (Rachelle Watson-Hill) and PerformanceIN (Mustafa Mirreh) discussed views on how companies should be implementing Diversity and Inclusion goals and where to focus their resources on. This included removing unconscious bias, understanding representation at all levels and deeper conversations within your organisation. However, more importantly, why businesses need to hold themselves accountable in addition to improving self-awareness, encouraging people to your organisation and having a growth mindset to take things differently while still remaining true to your values and beliefs.

Lastly, to close off Day 2, delegates were treated to a special edition of The Late Show with Awin Radio, featuring laughs, party pop bangers and official 2020 mug requests for PI LIVE Global!
